Cultural Feast – Adel Alhaimi Interprets for Sharjah Art Foundation
SHARJAH MARCH 2018: Red Sea’s Adel Alhaimi was recently invited to participate in the Sharjah Art Foundation’s March Meeting and was privileged to enjoy a cultural feast while in the process of interpreting.
As the Art Foundation puts it, the March Meeting is an “annual gathering of artists, art professionals and institutions concerned with the production and dissemination of art in the region and internationally”.
The various exhibitions, performances and discussions stretched from the 16th to the 19th of March 2018 and were spread across a number of venues, from Al Mujeijah Square to the old planetarium.
Adel enjoyed the creative and stimulating discussions but also commented on the challenges faced by the simultaneous interpreter in capturing and conveying the aesthetic sense of creative pieces – as well as remaining true to the style of the artists striving to express their deep and often complex world views.
